AGENDA
MAP

The WWF Russell E. Train Education for Nature (EFN) Symposium and Workshop is a two-day pre-ICCB event that will bring together EFN grantees, WWF staff, and other parties from around the world to exchange ideas, promote collaboration, and create a stronger network of conservationists.

General Information

Program Description:

Started in 1994, to honor WWF Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Russell E. Train, WWF created EFN to support the education and training of bright and passionate local conservation leaders across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Through a rigorous process, EFN identifies and supports leaders and organizations from WWF priority places who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving conservation in their home countries. These leaders then go on to make important contributions to conservation at home.

To date, EFN has provided more than $17 million in financial support to build capacity of more than 1,725 individuals. EFN has also funded 600 organizations to conduct training workshops, collectively reaching more than 40,000 community members, indigenous people, park guards, fishers, and others.
